Teas

The Map Room is proud to offer Teavana Teas.  We currently have six varieties to choose from and plan to change the varieties throughout the changing seasons.  If there is a particular flavor you would like us to carry as a “House Favorite,” please let us know.

All our Teavana Teas are loose leaf teas served in a contemporary infuser made completely of glass, so you can watch the tea leaves unfurl during steeping and enjoy the color of your tea as you drink it.

Our all natural sweeteners are a better way to add a touch of sugar to your tea.  White sugar affects the taste of the tea and often masks the complexity of the drink.  However, our unprocessed German rock cane sugar or Truvía, a natural zero-calorie sweetener, born from the leaves of the stevia plant adds a touch of sweetness without changing the taste of the tea.  Try one and see what you think.  You just might dump the white sugar all together!

As part of the Teavana mission, Teavana supports CARE by giving 1% of their annual profits to CARE.

White tea is also excellent for hydration of the body and the skin, which acts naturally to reduce the signs of aging (fine lines and wrinkles). And white tea also aids in detoxifying your body. A cup of white tea only has about 1% of the caffeine in a cup of coffee. All tea includes fluoride, which strengthens tooth enamel and reduces the formation of plaque. Some white teas may have additional health benefits.

Oolong Teas

Oolong teas are full-bodied teas with a fragrant and fruity aroma.  They are semi-fermented teas, so they have some of the same qualities as green and black teas.  Oolongs have about 15% of the caffeine in a cup of coffee.  Often called weight loss tea they help burn fat and built up in the body.  They are often served in Chinese restaurants.

Black Tea

Delicious black teas are loved in the West.  Full-bodied and strong, they taste great alone or with milk and sugar.  And they make a great iced tea.  The caffeine makes them a good morning tea.  But unlike coffee, you won’t get the jitters.
