Wines

The Map Room offers a selection of wines priced affordable for everyone.  We currently have a selection of 10 wines plus several sparkling wines to choose from. We plan to grow our wine menu as well as change the varieties throughout the seasons.  If there is a particular wine you would like us to carry as a “House Favorite,” please let us know. 

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand

A lifted and pungent bouquet, with passion fruit and pineapple, fighting for dominance among some intriguing floral notes.  The full palate is powerful and rich.  Flavors of gooseberry and pear join the tropical fruit following on from the nose.  The wine is weighty and has a lingering and crisp finish.

Pinot Grigio from Italy

Vivacious and fresh showing aromas of green apple, melon and a hint of mountain wildflowers, Quite elegant on the palate – it offers a succession of taste impressions starting with fresh, spicy fruit followed by a creamy midplate and a crisp, dry, mineral-laden finish.

White “table wine” from Spain

Crisp and refreshing, this versatile blend of two Spanish grapes Verdejo and Viura, displays delicate floral aromas and forward fruit. Absolutely delicious!  The perfect match with fish, seafood, pates, pasta or rice.

Chardonnay from Argentina

100% Organic wine of bright yellow and green shades with an apple present finish.

Riesling from Romania

Has a lively, fragrant, fruity and floral bouquet, reminiscent of a summer garden.  Characteristics include full ripe fruits including nectarines, green apples and honeysuckle blossoms to taste.

Cabernet Sauvignon from Romania

Fruity, sweet red wine with excellent balance, black berry fruit with a hint of wild flowers and a semi-sweet finish.

Pinot Noir from Portugal

A vibrant and fresh color, with purple hues. Intense aromas of fruits of the forest, blackberries and raspberries.  A medium bodied palate which is rich in wild berry characters. The wine finishes with great length, balance and texture.

Merlot

Medium balanced red with aromas of plums, red berries & ripe fruit flavor, finishing with a slight hint of vanilla.

Chianti from Italy

This 100% Sangiovese shows all the bright cherry flavored fruit that made Chianti famous. It’s medium-bodied and supple on the palate with lots of fruit and a hint of tobacco and cola. The silky tannins and natural acidity make this wine the perfect accompaniment to many different types of food.

Madeira

Madeira, warm and luscious in both its dry and sweet variations, makes an excellent wine for winter and the holiday season.  Clear dark reddish-copper in color, it breathes classic and very appealing Madeira scents of dried dates and figs and mixed nuts. Smooth and gently sweet, it's not a "sticky" dessert wine but shows good fresh-fruit sweetness built on Madeira's sturdy core of tart, lemony acidity.
